Hair health education, not medical advice
FolliCare WBS courses and pages are general hair health education for adults. They explain how hair grows, why it is lost, what the recognised options are and what to ask, but they are written for a general audience and cannot take your health, history, medicines, allergies or circumstances into account.
The courses are not medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment or a prescription, and they do not replace a doctor, a dermatologist, a pharmacist or a hair transplant surgeon. FolliCare WBS is not run by a doctor. Nobody at FolliCare WBS examines you, looks at photos of your hair or scalp, or gives individual advice, and we do not perform, sell or recommend any treatment, medicine, supplement, product, clinic or surgeon.
The courses draw on published guidance from recognised dermatology and hair restoration bodies. Guidance changes, and while we review and update the courses, we cannot guarantee that every statement reflects the latest advice on the day you read it.
Medicines and procedures
- Talk to a doctor first. Never start, stop, change or combine a medicine, supplement or treatment because of something you read in a course. Some hair loss medicines are prescription only, have side effects and are not suitable in pregnancy or with some health conditions.
- No doses. The courses never give doses, strengths or schedules. Those are for your doctor or pharmacist to decide.
- Surgery and procedures such as a hair transplant, PRP, microneedling or scalp micropigmentation carry risks, and must be decided with a qualified, registered professional after an in-person consultation.
- Your surgeon comes first. If you have had a procedure, the written instructions of your own surgeon or clinic always come before anything in a course.
- Patch tests. Before hair dye, concealers, fibres, adhesives or any new product on a sensitive scalp, do the patch test the product describes, usually 48 hours before use, and stop if your skin reacts.
When to see a doctor
See a doctor or dermatologist soon if you notice sudden hair loss, hair falling out in patches or in large amounts, hair loss with redness, pain, burning, tenderness, pus or shiny scarred skin, loss of eyebrows or body hair, hair loss together with other symptoms such as tiredness, weight change or irregular periods, hair loss in a child, or hair loss after starting a new medicine (keep taking it and call the prescriber). After a hair transplant, contact your clinic the same day if you have a fever, redness or warmth that spreads, pus, pain that gets worse, or bleeding that does not stop.
Emergencies. If you have difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or any other severe symptom, call your local emergency number immediately (112 in Portugal and the European Union). In Portugal you can also call the SNS 24 health line on 808 24 24 24.
Hair loss and how you feel
Hair loss can weigh on mood and confidence. If low mood lasts, or you have thoughts of harming yourself, please talk to a doctor or contact a local crisis line. The courses are not therapy.
No promised results
We do not promise less hair loss, regrowth, thicker hair, a successful procedure or any other result. The photographs and videos on this website are stock images of models and do not show the results of any course or treatment. The courses contain no invented figures, success rates or testimonials.
Your responsibility
You decide what to do with the information, with the advice of the health professionals who treat you. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage resulting from decisions you take without that advice. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the mandatory rights of consumers.
